The Rat Merchant was a concept for a series of short stories revolving around a rebellious bounty hunter who's number one priority is getting a good payoff at the end of hard days work. Gunnar Doe, the title of the story as well as the name of the main character, interacts a good deal with her information liason, the Rat Merchant, who is neither good nor evil but is never to be trusted on his strength of character. Although he is the bottom of the barrel in appearances and personality he will give accurate and exact information so long as the price he asks is paid.
